WAS NEEDS YOUR HELP: 9/26/2011

So often we hear the comment "What can we do to help?"  Well here is your chance. If you snowboard and you care enough about making a difference, support us in contacting the IOC. Its EASY! The process will take you less than 30 minutes, and cost you less then a dollar. Download this letter, PRINT / POST / MAIL to the IOC. Shoot a photo with your phone at the Post Office and post to the WAS page on FB. Today we can make a change. Together we can be heard. Snowboarding in Sochi, 2014 Winter Games!

I,  _____________________, am personally sending you this letter on behalf of We Are Snowboarding to support the group in regards to the Olympic Qualification process for the 2014 Sochi Winter Games.

I am a snowboarder. I care how the world views my sport in 2014. I believe the athletes deserve a fair and equal say in the qualification process. I believe there is a very precarious safety issue looming within scheduling conflicts in 2013/2014.  I believe the current ranking system is inadequate. I believe the voice of the athletes should be heard before the voice of corporate event organizers. I believe a better event will be broadcast to the world if our voice is heard.

We, the snowboarders, have built competitive snowboarding into an Olympic-worthy sport and feel that it is crucial for the integrity of our sport that a joint ranking list, including some of our sport’s greatest events, be created and used in the Olympic qualification process in 2013/2014.  Decades of hard work have gone into building competitive snowboarding and it would be very disappointing to have our input completely disregarded.

Please respect this request for a fair and objective decision-making process.
