1st place: Mike Wechselberger (AUT) – Indy Tailbone
This shot is just epic! The idea for the spot is great! And the handling of the lighting is done with great perfection, no matter if we talk about the usage of flashlight, illumination of the rider or the coloring. We also like the layout composition. And of course we like the style and amplitude of the rider. Mission accomplished – with great style and beauty!
2nd place: Dániel Králik (HUN) – stalefish in the fog
The right crew at the right place at the right time. They knew how to take advantage of the fog and delivered an awesome picture. Beside the great atmosphere it’s the composition of the layout that impressed us the most. We like the position of the rider. We like the fence. The only suggestion we can give: if possible try out a higher positioning of the flashlight from the back in order to achieve more contrast for the silhouette.
3rd place: Marek Ogień (POL) – Early morning
This shot is a prime example for the mission topic “silhouette”. The trick was chosen wisely – the outline of the rider and the grab are clearly visible. The overall layout is reduced to the max. Only the mountain skyline stands out with a few more details, still fitting harmoniously into the overall composition. A small points deduction had to be given for the overexposed sky.
4th place: Tadek Jezierski (POL) – inside an ice cave
This is an amazing shot with one clear deficit. The location is breathtaking, no doubt. The angle is chosen very well and the overall atmosphere is great. Even more creativity is shown by the mirroring of the rider. Which, unfortunately, brings us to the one point of criticism – the action. A better trick would have send this shot to the podium.
5th place: Severin Wegener (GER) - bs 1 in the pow
We really liked that this crew achieved a solid silhouette by capturing the rider against the natural light. A rider that comes with great style! Also the angle was chosen very cleverly. And the vibe of the picture is very interesting; take e.g. the texture in the snow, the blurred clouds or the contrasty mountains.
