In case you missed it, Patrick Hofmann got on 32 and had the opportunity to film for their latest team movie. We caught up with him to find out more about shooting for TR3 D2UCE, as well as his season ending injury at DIYX. He also offered to give away a new T32M FASE binding. Read on to find out how to win…

Hey Patrick, That was such a rough start to your season, breaking your leg at DIYX. How’s the recovery going?
I’m doing well, thanks. Recovery is good. I’ve been spending a lot of time strengthening the muscles, and the next step will be getting back into jumping.
On a more positive note, it was great to see so many clips of you in the new 32 movie. How was your experience filming for it?
Balancing my commitments with the Swiss team and filming in the streets turned out to be trickier than expected. In the end, I only managed to go on two trips and a one day mission. I definitely wish I had been able to film more. That said, experiencing my first real street filming sessions with Pat Fava and Toni Kerkelä was incredible.
I heard a rumor that the first shot in your part was filmed at the hotel that Gian Simmen’s parents used to run when they lived in Davos. Did he send you the pin?
Yes that is true, we did end up filming in Davos. But I actually didn’t even realize that myself until you mentioned it. We were just out there scouting on our own and found the spot.
Which of your shots from the movie is your favorite?
My favorite trick would have to be my ender: the one-foot FS 270 to backflip. It was also the biggest battle for me.
You’re the first Swiss rider to get on 32’s new board and binding program. How has it been meeting all of those guys?
Joining the 32 international team has been a real blessing. Meeting everyone back in January 2025 was easily one of my favorite trips of my career so far.

Between you and Scott Stevens, you guys pretty much hold it down in the 1 foot category. What’s the secret to a good 1 foot trick?
I think the key is to embrace the challenge and enjoy the process — including falling a lot while learning it. Honestly, about 90% of my one-foot tricks are learned the same day, and it usually takes way more tries than I’d like.
Maybe, that’s what we should do for your binding giveaway? Some sort of one foot battle?
A one foot challenge would be dope! But also a bit limiting for the people that would like to enter. Not everyone can ride one foot. For a giveaway, the first thing that comes to my mind is that everyone has an equal chance to win.
Good point. Anyone who wins a one foot challenge probably get’s their bindings for free anyway. How about something funny that highlights how fast the FASE system is? Something like:
32’s new T32M binding is 50% faster than traditional bindings. What will you do with all of the extra time that you save? Send an email to win@whiteout.ch to enter. Make us laugh and the bindings could be yours…
Yeah, let’s do that. Sounds fun…

Anything else you’d like to add before we wrap this up?
I’m really itching to get back out there. I’ve been daydreaming about snowboarding almost every day since the accident, and I’ve got some ideas stacking up that I can’t wait to show you guys.
Thanks Patrick! Can’t wait to see you back on your board.
