Anti Social Awards I Best of September

We all spend way too much time scrolling through Instagram, like we’ve got nothing better to do with our lives. Since I work at a snowboard mag, I have a pretty good excuse. I mean, I’m supposed to know what’s happening in the snowboard world… but trust me, sometimes following 1000+ Swiss snowboarders can be pretty painful. If you ever want to know what Pat Burgener had for lunch, or how many times Yung Doli got wasted this week, I’m your guy. #justkillme

Since I’m already taking one for the team, I decided to save you some time and weed out some “important” things that I’ve witnessed this month. So now you can spend more of your precious time doing things that truly matter. #yourewelcome

The Powder Envy Award
There are people in need of alcohol, sex, drugs or whatever… but in the middle of September, there’s nothing we crave more than pow turns. So please Boris, if you’re gonna go all the way to NZ, do us a favor and just stay in the park, ok?

The WTF Award
Nicolas Huber might not be a nudist anymore, but he sure is entertaining. The last shot in the second frame is pure gold.

The Method of the Month Award
Deniz Cinek definitely knows how to do a proper method and Silvano Zeiter definitely knows how to capture it. Maybe I should fix my cracked phone screen so that I can enjoy posts like this a bit more.

The Girl Power Award
I’m no misogynist, but there’s something highly satisfying about watching a chick bail… and then get back up and stomp it. Lia-Mara is a boss.

The Fridge Award
There’s a reason why you’re not supposed to claim last run. Usually that’s when something goes horribly wrong. But that’s no concern for Dario, as he casually destroys the park on his way back home. Looks like backpacks are the new black.

The Art Crush Award
Our snowboard community goes way beyond the super kids, phone-filming each other around the world, from one melting glacier to the next. There are also artists and musicians who add a heavy dose of style to everything we do. So we’ll take a moment to thank people like Iuna Tinta for brightening up the feed, one post at a time.

The SK8 Crush Award
Max Buri always makes it look easy. That’s the kind of line everybody wants to do on the way down from the glacier.

The IGTV Award
The roll out of IGTV was one Instagram’s most spectacular fails. Now that they’ve started teasing their long form video format in posts, it’s finally gaining some traction. Still, we had to find a proper screen to watch this masterpiece from Lukas Blume and Matthias Wittwer.

The TB Award
The best throwback post goes to Romain and Gigi, killing it back in 2004 for Absinthe Films’ POP. Nice of Lance to dig this one up and remind us that backcountry snowboarding hasn’t really come so far in the past 15 years.
